Background
MoveMedia was founded in June of 2002, with one goal in mind: to build a software platform that reliably and cost effectively delivers rich media/video content over the public Internet. The initial foundation for QuantumMedia came from MoveMedia’s early focus on overcoming all of the barriers in “large object” delivery over the Internet. The unique characteristics of video as a data type and medium of experience led MoveMedia to develop the standards-based intelligence necessary to deliver true TV/DVD-like quality and highly responsive interactivity.
Other companies have built solutions that are based on bypassing the network infrastructure issues, or recreating dedicated delivery circuits -- achieving only limited results. MoveMedia has developed a technology that addresses Internet latency and congestion bottlenecks with dramatic performance and quality. QuantumMedia addresses network uncertainty and variability from the backbone, accross the middle miles, the last mile, to the buisness or residence, delivering an unparalleled Internet video experience.
The Business of MoveMedia
The MoveMedia Video Distribution Platform, QuantumMediaTM enables content providers and business enterprises to transform the pervasive public Internet into an effective and profitable TV/DVD quality video distribution channel. This enables many new video-centric applications and businesses for broadband users, at work, at home or “on the go”.
MoveMedia has flexible use, licensing, and deployment models to fit varying marketplace requirements. Customers may license our technology for streaming content over their infrastructure. They may also wish to leverage our completely optimized Internet media delivery infrastructure (MoveNetworks), to augment our video distribution software platform. Either way, our customers are able to provide their customers the benefits of a dramatically improved video experience.
The software platform may also be licensed for embedded applications such as Set Top Boxes, PVR, TV, and portable streaming devices.
QuantumMedia Target Markets
By enabling the public Internet to deliver high quality streaming video on demand at exceptionally low cost, QuantumMedia will
- expand audience reach,
- increase monetization of existing video publishing business models on and off the Internet, and
- generate new compelling video experiences and associated new business models.
Content providers, entrepreneurs, and enterprises will discover that QuantumMedia’s TV/DVD-quality Internet video is invaluable in helping them deliver video content to target audiences, large and small.
